  • $23M Royalties Scam On Youtube – Tip of The Iceberg – Reveals Voluntary Blindness

    August 15, 2022 /

On Youtube, just about anyone can claim copyright in just about any video for the purpose of monetizing, regardless of whether they own a fragment of a copyright or not. The point is, Youtube knows about it and allows it! Here is how it’s done: If you ever uploaded a video on Youtube, you…

    July 11, 2022 /

The Jonathan Simkhai Online Store features both virtual and regular designs. My last post on the metaverse turned into a 3000 word paper, but we only covered part of the foundation of the metaverse. I’ll take the opportunity in this post to discuss non fungible tokens (NFT). (sorry, I just had to steal the allegory… ) Cassie the robot completed its first 5K run In 53min on a single battery charge. Watch it here. It could qualify as cringy. https://robbreport.com/gear/electronics/robot-runs-5k-in-53-minutes-1234627129/ I am looking forward to Robot Olympics 2028, dramatic gymnastics category.

  • Indica Records Cyber-Phishing Upgraded

    July 28, 2021 /

I don’t know why the Indica label is so popular among incompetent cyber-criminals. Even Desjardins impersonators are not that persistent, but here we go again. It is important to keep in mind that this can happen to any business. Every website out there can be used as a front to commit phishing and other attacks, with or without cyber-squatting, most of the time without the knowledge and consent of site admins. The less tech-savvy a business, the more vulnerable it is to have its identity used in this way. While dissecting my latest Indica Records incident, I noticed a new approach of fake ID layering to bypass spam filters (not…
